How to Remove Urine Stains From Concrete

If you have let your pets to roam freely on your concrete then urine stains must be a common problem that you may experience on a daily basis if your pet is not trained. Such stains after some time also causes bad smell if not removed within time. Urine Stains are not really something of which you should worry of as in this day and age there have been discovered various methods and processes through which you can completely eradicate these Urine Stains without any hassle. You can use any one of the following method depending on whether they are Dog Urine Stains or Cat Urine Stains.

Method 1 (For Dog Urine Stains)

Things you will be required:

·      Squeegee.

·      Disinfectant solution.

·      Vacuum cleaner.

·      Broom.

·      Clean and fresh water.

·      Clean cloth.

·      Paper towels.

·      Warm water.

·      Water based cleaning solution.

·      Liquid soap.

·      Vinegar.

·      Soap.

Steps:

1.   If the urine is just new, then you must realize that it has not dried up and you will need squeegee to pull the urine up from the concrete.

2.   Once you have done that, then the rest of the cleaning will be made easy for you. You should know that bacteria often grow in areas that have smell and dirt. For that you should apply disinfectant solution on the concrete. Give it time to reach the entire stain area. Then scrub the concrete with the help of a broom. Then use a dry wet vacuum cleaner to remove the liquid.

3.   Using the freshwater, rinse all the remaining’s of cleaning solution away and using vacuum cleaner, vacuum the rinse water.

 You can also go for an alternate method which is described below.

1.   You can also do it the other way that is instead of using the squeegee you can clean the urine with warm water and absorb the urine with either clean cloth or paper towels.

2.   Then you may apply a water based cleaning solution a piece of cloth. Alternately apply clean vinegar and soap (in equal parts) on it.

3.   Leave the towel with the help of you applied the solution on the stain for more than fifteen minutes. After that remove it and wipe the stain area with a clean towel.

Method 2 (For Cat Urine Stains)

Things you will be required:

·      Urine stains removers available in market.

·      Trisodium phosphate.

·      Baby powder.

·      Paper towels.

·      Detergent.

·      Water.

Steps:

1.   First absorb as much urine as possible from concrete with the help of paper towels. Then add commercial stain removal on the concrete.

2.   Secondly, mix tri sodium phosphate in water and then apply the paste on the Cat Urine stain. Keep it applied on for ten to fifteen minutes.

3.   Pour some baby powder on it so give it no smell and to dry wet parts.

4.   Wash the area with detergent and water and then wipe it with paper towels, the stain will be removed.

Tips and Warnings:

1.   It is very important to treat dog urine stains quickly as the stain smell of dogs is really bad.

2.   Wear gloves when cleaning as it can contain bacteria.

3.   The products you use for Cat Urine Stains should not without advice be used for Dog Urine Stains.

4.   Do not use warm water when fresh urine as it can set the stain further.
