How to Remove Yellow Urine Stains from Carpet

If you own pets or have toddlers at home, you are likely to encounter stubborn yellow urine stains on clothes and carpets every now and then. Training your pet or your child can be a long process, leaving you frustrated and angry at the sight of the stains on your favorite carpet. Although you may not be able to tell the extent of the stink of your pet or child’s urine since you may have gotten used to it, a guest who enters the house can smell it immediately, resulting in embarrassment for you. Avoid getting embarrassed, and follow the instructions below to get rid of the yellow urine stains from your carpet.

The most important thing to remember is to wear gloves. If the stain is fresh, place paper towels on top of the stained area. They will absorb the fresh urine. Use as many paper towels as necessary. Keep doing so till all the urine has dried up.

Things that you will require:

·      Bowl
·      ½ cup white vinegar
·      ½ cup water
·      Scrubbing brush
·      Paper towels
·      Baking soda
·      ½ cup 3% hydrogen peroxide
·      1 teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   The first step towards the removal of the yellow urine stain from your carpet involves making the cleaning solution. To do so, fill a bowl with ½ cup white vinegar and ½ cup water. Mix the two ingredients.

2.   Pour the solution on the stained area.

3.   Grab an old scrubbing brush, and work the solution into the carpet.

4.   Next, use paper towels to absorb the excess moisture from the stained area. Keep blotting till it is dry.

5.   Once the carpet dries, sprinkle a layer of baking soda over the affected area.

6.   Now, you will be required to make another cleaning solution. To do so, pour ½ cup 3% hydrogen peroxide in a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent to this bowl, and mix both the ingredients well.

7.   Once done, pour this solution on the stained area as well.

8.   As done above, work the solution on the stain with an old scrubbing brush.

9.   Your Yellow Urine Stains should have disappeared by now. Turn the fan on, and leave the windows and doors open. Let the stain dry completely.
