How to Remove Hard Water Stains From Kitchen Sink




Hard water stains can develop in your kitchen sink if daily care and maintenance is not done. The longer we allow the stain to set in the harder it will be to remove them. There are many methods of removing these stains. You can adopt anyone of the following methods to remove Hard Water Stains from Kitchen Sink.

Method 1

Things you will be required:

·      Vinegar/ Lemon juice.
·      Spraying bottle.
·      Soft piece of cloth.

Steps:

1.   The first step is that you get a spraying bottle and fill it up with vinegar, as much vinegar depending on the intensity of the stain. Do not dilute it with water.

2.   If vinegar is not available you can also add lemon juice as vinegar and lemon juice tends to be perfect substitutes.

3.   As you have filled the spray bottle, the next step would be to spray it on the stain area covering it very effectively and keeping at applied on for at least an hour. Then wipe it with a clean soft cloth.

4.   Keep spraying and repeating the process until the hard water stains are completely removed.


Method 2

Things you will be required:

·      Rubber gloves.
·      Soft and clean piece of cloth.
·      Olive oil or baby oil.
·      Store brought cleaner like Brasso.
·      Sponges.
·      Club soda.

Steps:

1.   Start cleaning your sink and wiping it with the help of a soft cloth making sure you are wearing rubber gloves.

2.   Then pour a drop of Brasso on a soft and clean piece of cloth and wipe the sink with it. First try one area, and then add more drops to treat the entire stain.

3.   Then polish the area with a clean cloth so that no stain is visible.

4.   Then make a thick paste with the help of a baking soda and water. Add less water to make a thick paste. Then with the help of a sponge, in circular motions apply the paste on the sink.

5.   Then rinse your sink after thirty minutes and wipe it until dry.

6.   The streaks on the sink can be removed with the help of club soda and then rinsing it off with water.

7.   The scratches on it can be removed with the help of pouring either baby oil or olive oil on a piece of cloth and then rubbing the sink with it. Rinse your sink and your kitchen sink will be free of any stains.

Tips and Warnings:

1.   The plus point with vinegar is that it can get your rid of the soap scums that may develop as well.

2.   Also unlike many other cleaning solutions, vinegar is not abrasive and will not damage any of the Porcelain surfaces you might use it on.

3.   Wear gloves when applying vinegar as vinegar can effect on your skin as well.

4.   In method one makes sure you do not dilute the mixture with water.
