How To Remove Henna Stains from Hands




In Eastern cultures, Henna is considered to be a pivotal part of feminine beauty. It is applied on hands and feet during weddings and is a tradition which is widely followed. Moreover, it is also worn during other festive occasions such as on Eid and Diwali. This henna which adorns hands and feet definitely looks appealing and betrays a hint of rich beauty.


However, many ladies prefer henna in its dark brown shade. When this color starts to lighten, many girls and ladies want it to be removed from their hands as soon as possible. Method One (Using Lemon juice and soda powder)

 Lemon is a natural astringent and has many effective cleansing properties. It has citric acid inside it which would get out these henna stains from deep inside your skin and will consequently ensure their removal.

Things that you will require:

·      Water
·      Lemon
·      Cotton ball
·      Soda powder
·      Bowl
·      Adhesive tape

Steps that you need to take:


1.  Before embarking upon the stain removal procedure, you need to make an effective cleaning solution. In this case, our cleaning solution would comprise of lemon and soda powder.

2.  To make this solution, take hold of a bowl. Pour some lemon juice and 2 tea spoons of soda powder into this bowl. With the help of a spoon or spatula, mix the two ingredients together so that you end up with a thoroughly mixed cleaning solution.

3.  Once the solution has been prepared, take a cotton ball and dip it into this very solution. However make sure that the cotton ball or swab is not entirely soaked into this solution.

4.  Next, you have to place this slightly damp cotton ball onto the henna stained area and leave it lying there. To make sure that it is secured to the stained area; you can cover it up with a tape.

5.  Allow this cotton swab to sit on the stain for a few hours depending upon the intensity of henna stain. If the stain is dark, then probably you will have to leave it on for a longer time.

6.  Afterwards, gently peel the tape off and remove the cotton swab from your hand.

7.  Finally, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

8.   Hopefully you would have got rid of any henna stains by now. To make sure that your skin is restored to its original state, you can consider moisturizing your hands with a good lotion or vitamin E oil at the end of the stain-removal treatment.

Method Two (Using Salt and Olive Oil)

Olive oil, when conjugated with salt forms an effective solution for the removal of henna stains. Moreover, the best part is that it is gentle on the skin. Although salt exfoliates and prompts the henna particles to get out of the skin, yet at the same time olive oil ensures that the skin doesn’t have to face any kind of abrasion.

·      Olive oil
·      Salt

Steps that you need to take:

1.   This method is pretty simple. All you have to do is take some olive oil and massage it gently onto the henna stained hand.

2.   Next, take some salt and pour it in your hand.

3.   Massage this salt thoroughly onto the stained area along with the olive oil.

4.   Salt being a natural exfoliator would ensure that all stain remnants are satisfactorily removed.

5.   Finally wash your hands.

Tips:

Bleach hydrogen per oxide and tooth paste can also go a long way in ensuing that the henna stains are effectively cleaned.
