Method One (For Fresh Stains)

 The following method deploys recipes made for leather which are prepared commercially. These leather cleaners are prepared by specialists and therefore can go a long way in helping you get rid of blood stains.

Things that you will require:

·      Clean, white cloths
·      Sponge
·      Leather cleaner

Steps that you need to take:


1.  It is strongly recommended that you treat the blood stain as soon as possible, before it has a chance to dry off.  If the stain is fresh, then continue reading this method, and in case of dry stains, switch to the next one.

2.  Primarily, you need to remove as much blood as possible from the stain. To do this, take hold of a clean cloth and use it to dab the stain. Make sure that you dab the stain instead of wiping it off. This is suggested because wiping the blood stain might push the stain particles deeper into the leather pores. Consequently, you will end up with a bigger mess, as compared to the one you started with.

3.  Once you are sure that maximum blood has been removed, take another clean, white cloth and pour some leather cleaner onto it. However, before applying it directly onto the stain, check it first onto some discreet area of your leather.

4.  Gently rub the inconspicuous area with this cloth and check if any discoloration or any other damage of the like kind has taken place.

5.  If the coast seems clear then continue with the stain removal procedure. Rub the stained area gently with this cloth which has been dabbed with the leather cleaner.

6.  Once the stain is gone, wipe off any excess fluid and allow the leather to dry off in some cool indoor area, where it would be safe from sunlight and other weather effects.


Method Two (For Dry Stains)

The following method is particularly useful for removing dry blood stains. You just need to take cream of tartar and lemon juice and follow the steps below.

Things that you will require:

·      Cream of Tartar
·      Lemon Juice
·      Clean sponge
·      Water

Steps that you need to take:

1.  In order to remove these unattractive and unsightly blood stains from your leather, primarily you would have to make an effective cleaning solution.

2.  To make this solution, mix one part cream of tartar with one part lemon juice and mix thoroughly.

3.  Apply this cleaning paste onto the stain and let it sit on it for some time, approximately 10 minutes.

4.  Afterwards, take a clean damp sponge and wipe the paste away along with all stain remnants.

5.  Hopefully, the stain will be gone by now, yet if it still persists, then you can repeat the above steps again to get rid of these blood stains.

1.  Always test the cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area before applying it on the stain.

2.  The sooner you act the better will the results be.
