How to remove Blood Stains from Colored Clothes

Blood stains are gruesome to look at. Moreover a horrible bloody stench also accompanies them. The worst part is that these stains are not only fatal for white clothes; rather they mar the appearance of dark clothes as well. They tend to darken the color of your shirt, no matter how dark it might originally be. Therefore, naturally none of us wants to incur such an unsightly mark on our outfits. Yet, no matter how hard we might try to avoid such aggravating stains, at some point in our lives we do come across them. Hence, it’s always handy to know such tips which would help you get rid of these terrible blood stains.

Given below are certain stain removal tips which will result into a satisfactory removal of blood stains. Follow these tips and blood stains would soon become history.

Things that you will require:

·      Dull knife
·      Cold water
·      Hydrogen per oxide
·      Mild liquid laundry detergent
·      Soft tooth brush

Steps that you need to take:

1.  The following method is particularly useful for dried blood stains, which are generally set in deeply and are consequently harder to remove. Primarily, you will need to scrape off this dried blood from the stain with the help of a dull knife.

2.  Then, place the back side of the stained area under running cold water. This step would flush away maximum blood from the stain. However, make sure that you place the back side of the stained cloth instead of its front side. This is because placing the front side of the stained area under water can result into further spreading of the stain.

3.  Afterwards, soak this fabric into cold water for some time depending upon the intensity of the stain. This time limit can vary from 10 minutes to 60 minutes.

4.  Now you need to take a little amount of hydrogen per oxide on a rag and use this rag to blot the stain. Per oxide will lead to the removal of a major percentage of the blood stain.
5.  To get rid of the remaining blood stain traces, pour some liquid laundry detergent onto the blood stain and gently work it onto the stain with the help of fingers or you can also consider using a soft tooth brush if the stain tends to be stubborn.

6.    Finally, launder the colored clothes stain like you normally do and before placing the previously stained garment into the dryer, make sure that all blood stain remnants have gone satisfactorily.

Warning:

Avoid scrubbing the stain harshly as this action of yours might damage the cloth fibers.
