hold ingredients which have the potential of getting rid of the most stubborn
coffee stains off any wooden surface.
Things that you will require:
·
Half teas spoon of liquid laundry detergent
·
water
·
One
tea spoon of distilled white vinegar
·
Absorbent
paper towels/ clean cloths
·
A
clean buffing cloth
·
One
tea spoon of wood polish
Steps that you need to take:
1.
First
of all take some absorbent paper towels and moisten them with water and half
tea spoon of liquid detergent.
2.
Use
these paper towels to wipe off the coffee stains off the wooden surface. This
is particularly useful for fresh stains as often this step alone suffices for coffee
stain removal.
3.
Wipe
carefully making sure that no coffee traces are left behind. Finally, blot with
fresh paper towels to ensure this.
4.
Next,
you have to treat the stain which would probably have been left behind. In
order to remove these coffee stains, we will have to make use of a stronger
cleaning agent, which in this case happens to be white distilled vinegar.
5.
Pour
1 tea spoon of white vinegar onto the stain. Allow it to sit in the stain for a
minute, so that it can carry out its cleansing action.
6.
Afterwards,
take a fresh wad of paper towels and use them to wipe away vinegar and any
coffee stain remnant. Finally let it air dry.
7.
In
case the wood has been discolored due to this coffee stain, it is very easy to
restore it to its natural shine with a simple application of wood polish.
8.
Pour
1 tea spoon of wood polish onto a clean buffing cloth and then rub this cloth
in a circular motion onto the wooden surface. Give time to this polish so that
it can dry off completely.
9.
Afterwards,
rub the surface again with a clean buffing cloth.
10.
You
can repeat this process until your desired look has been achieved.
Tip:
Mayonnaise, petroleum jelly
or an oily furniture polish can also yield satisfactory results when it comes
to the removal of coffee stains from wood. These substances replace the water
mark with oil and then you can rub with a clean buffing cloth to restore the
wood to its natural shine.
