How to remove candle wax from table cloths

Candles are a wonderful addition to your romantic dinners. They not only add ambiance to your room, but there is an exotic aura about them as well, which will help make your dinner a truly memorable one.

Ironically, when these candles drip wax onto your table cloths and linen, these dinners become all the more memorable; since you would end up with another chore added to your to do list. You would not only have to do the dishes and clean everything up, rather you will also have your table cloths awaiting you with candle wax all over them.
.
Undeniably you would be boiling with frustration; but with our easy and effective tip, getting rid of this candle wax will be a piece of cake. Follow the instructions given below and hopefully these wax stains will become history once you are finished with them.

Things that you will require:

· Ice pack/ Freezer
· Dull knife
· Brown paper bag
· Iron
· Warm water
· Liquid laundry detergent

Steps that you need to take:

1.   Cleaning off the wax while it is still in its molten state can smear and smudge it on the table cloth, hindering its effective removal. Therefore, primarily you have to allow the wax to cool down so it hardens, becomes brittle and is easy to come off.

2.   To facilitate this cooling process, you can either place the table cloth in freezer, or place an icepack over the wax. Once it hardens, take a dull knife and scrape off this hardened excess wax.

3.   The above cold method will satisfactorily remove the major portion of wax. Now, in order to deal with the remaining wax traces, take an iron and a brown paper bag.

4.   Place the paper bag onto the stain and adjust the iron on its lowest heat setting.

5.   Iron the paper gently so that wax from the stain melts and clings to the paper.

6.   This method will take care of all wax remnants.

7.   Then, soak the table cloth in hot or Luke warm water and add some liquid laundry detergent.

8.      Wash the table cloth like you normally do, keeping in mind the fabric’s texture.

9.      By the time you are finished with this washing process, the candle wax stain will no longer be visible and you can revel in your handiwork.

Tips and Warnings:

· Make sure that the ice pack doesn’t leak, or it would condensate the stain, making it harder to come off.

· Keep replacing the paper bag with new ones as required, or keep shifting its position; otherwise it is very likely that the wax might transfer back to the stain.
