How to remove pet poop stains from carpets





Pets are undeniably adorable and keep you company when no one else might be willing to. Yet keeping a pet demands a vigilant effort on your part. Method One (Using pre wash laundry stain remover)

Removing poop stains from the carpet might sound gruesome; however it is not that difficult. The following method is quite simple indeed. You wouldn’t have to go out of your way to purchase some extra ingredients. Your routine detergent and stain remover can do the trick.

Things that you will require:

·      spatula
·      Dust pan
·      paper towels
·      clean water
·      Pre wash laundry stain remover
·      Clean cloth
·      Dish washing Detergent

Steps that you need to take:


1.    Before you start removing that nasty stain from your carpet, a very disagreeable job which you have to do is scooping up the poop from your carpet. No matter how unwilling you might be to perform this job, yet you have to do it. So get some plastic gloves, put them on; get a spatula or pooper-scooper. Scoop up maximum fecal matter on the dust pan and dispose it of in the trash can.

2.    After taking off the maximum fecal matter off the stain, place paper towels over it so that all the stain remnants may get absorbed in it.

3.    Spray the stain with a pre wash stain remover.

4.    After that make a solution with water and dish washing detergent.

5.    Apply this solution on the stain with a sponge or clean cloth.

6.    Gently rub the stain.

7.    Repeat the steps 3 to 6 until the stain comes off.

8.    When the stain is finally removed, blot that area with a clean cloth to wipe away the detergent and stain remover.

9.    Keep blotting until it becomes dry.


Warning:

Avoid excessive scrubbing as it might fray the carpet. Furthermore work from the outside and move towards the inside, instead of rubbing back and forth. This is because the latter procedure might spread the stain further.


Method two (Using white vinegar solution)

Vinegar is God’s gift. It has a multitude of uses to its name. Not only does it add taste to your meals, but it also act as a very potent cleaner. This method is useful for stains that are a bit stubborn and refuse to come off easily. As this method deploys vinegar, hydrogen per oxide and ammonia collectively; so it will surely help you get rid of all annoying poop stains.

Things that you will require:

·      dust pan
·      white vinegar
·      warm water
·      Spray bottle
·      hydrogen per oxide
·      ammonia
·      cool water
·      clean cloth/sponge

Steps that you need to take:

1.    For the removal of pet poop stains, primarily you have to scoop away the excess fecal matter. You can do this by using a spatula and dustpan. Finally this poopy substance should be discarded away in the trash can.

2.   Next, you have to make a cleaning solution comprising of one tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of warm water.

3.   Fill a spray bottle with this cleaning solution and spray it on the stain remnants to get them out of the carpet.

4.   Let the solution set in for some time so that it can work more effectively. You could leave it for 5 to 10 minutes.

5.   Afterwards blot it up with a rag.

6.   Repeat this process of spraying and blotting until the stain disappears.

7.   However if the pet poop stain is persistent and refuses to budge, then you ought to use something stronger for its removal.

8.   Treat the stain with some drops of hydrogen peroxide, followed by a few drops of ammonia.

9.   You will have most probably got rid of the poop stain by now. Sponge it with a clean cloth and blot it dry.

Tip:

You can also sprinkle some baking soda on the stain to get rid of any unpleasant lingering odor.
