How to remove Coke/Pepsi Stains from clothes

Coke/Pepsi is liked by all whether an adult or a child. In the excitement of drinking it, people often tend to spill it all over themselves. It can also happen simply by accident as well. When spilled on clothes both Pepsi and Coke leave a very light colored stain which is hardly noticeable. When this stain dried up it not only makes the fibers of the affected area more rigid, but may also attract insects that eat fabrics. If left untreated, the sweet smelling stain might attract one of these insects that will definitely eat and leave holes in your clothes.

In order to steer clear of such damage to your clothes, it is best that you treat the clothes stained with Coke/Pepsi as soon as possible. If you are at a gathering where you can’t immediately treat your clothes, make sure that you have at least dried the stained area with a paper towel so that it doesn’t do a lot of damage to the rest of the clothes. Here are some methods that will help you in getting rid of the Coke/Pepsi stains.

Method 1 (Shaving Cream Method)

Shaving cream method has worked for many. Because of the availability of the items that you will need, this solution is very successful and is recommended by us. At gatherings if you or your kids have spilled Coke/Pepsi, this easy method will help lift those stains right off.

Things that you will require:

·      Shaving cream

·      Warm water

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Rinse the Coke/Pepsi stained clothes under water. Make sure the water is applied from the back side of the stain.

2.   Now spray the shaving cream onto it and leave it on for about 15 minutes. It will absorb all the spilt Coke/Pepsi.

3.   Take warm water and wash off the shaving cream. This will lead to a successful stain removal.

4.   Put the clothes in laundry as usual.

Method 2 (pH Laundry Washer Solution)

This method is lengthy but the results are satisfactory. The items needed are readily available and in no time you will be able to remove all Coke/Pepsi related stains.

Things that you will require:

·      Paper towels

·      Stain remover

·      Water

·      pH laundry washer

·      Bleach

·      Gloves

·      Large bowl

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   If the stain is fresh, absorb the extra Poke/Pepsi from the stained clothes with a paper towel.

2.   With the stain remover, treat the stained area. Leave it on for about half an hour.

3.   Add a tbsp. full of the laundry washer to the large bowl. Mix it with cold water and dip the stained clothes in it. If the clothes are white also add a quarter cup bleach. Rub the stained area with hands. The bleach might sting therefore use gloves.

4.   At this point the stains would be completely removed. If not leave the clothes soaked for about ten minutes and rinse. Always remember to air dry.

Method 3 (Vinegar Method)

This method is very effective for Coke/Pepsi stain removal. The items required are available in any kitchen so if you are at someone’s house, this method will help in removing all stains effectively.

Things that you will require:

·      White vinegar

·      Water

·      Cleaning towel

·      Empty bowl

·      Laundry detergent

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Add an ounce of water and one tsp. laundry detergent to the bowl. Stir them around to mix. Now add one third of white vinegar to it. Again stir and mix.

2.   Dip the stains in the solution and then spread the clothes on a flat surface.

3.   Press a cleaning towel onto the stain. This will transfer the stain onto the towel. Repeatedly do this till all the stains have been lifted.

4.   Once all the stains have been removed, wash the clothes with plain water, this will successful remove all stains. Now put the clothes in laundry and wash them your usual way. Remember that such clothes should be air dried and not put in the dryer.
