How To Remove Rust Stains From Floor?


Rust stains on floor are a menace. Not only do they look ugly but also for guests visiting your house, such stains really cause a bad impression on the guests. It is very important to remove such stains from the floor that may result because of dirty water, chair marks, or bad weather. So you must clean these rust so that your house looks clean and tidy. 

There are many methods to remove rust stains from the floor. Depending on the type of flooring you have, cleaning methods will vary.

Method 1 (Marble flooring)


Things you will be required:

·      Elbow grease.
·      Clean water.
·      Marble stain cleaner detergent.
·      Sponge.
·      Piece of cloth.

Steps:

1.   First you have to clean the area with a piece of cloth to make sure that the area does not have any dust particles or other materials trapped on it, which may hinder the cleaning process.

2.   Apply elbow grease on it.

3.   After that scratch the grease with the backside of the sponge which is green in colour.

4.   Notice that some hard particles of rust will be removed.

Method 2 (Concrete flooring)

Things you will be required:

·      Tri sodium phosphates.
·      Gallon of hot water.
·      Cider vinegar.
·      Piece of cloth.
·      Commercial cleaner.

Steps:

1.   Clean the area which has rust on it with a piece of cloth to make it clear.

2.   Apply Tri sodium phosphates on the desired area for fifteen minutes.

3.   Before applying make sure to mix it with a gallon of hot water to lighten the mixture.

4.   Spray some of cider vinegar on it.

5.   Vinegar as acid in it, which tends to neutralize the mixture.

6.   Clean the area with some wet cloth.

7.   If the area still has some stains, redo the entire process.

8.   If still the rust stain appears use some commercial cleaner for concrete flooring.

Method 3 (Tile flooring)

Things you will be required:

·      Vacuum cleaner for light stains.
·      Dry cloth duster.
·      Warm water if available otherwise lukewarm water will also work.
·      Disinfect spray.
·      Vinegar solution either homemade or commercial solutions.
·      Small bowl to make a paste.
·      Soft brush for scrubbing.
·      Gloves.
·      Ammonia
·      Kerosene.
·      Piece of cloth.

Steps:

1.   Before spraying, applying solution or drying, it is very important to clean the area with a vacuum cleaner.

2.   Then clean the area further with a dry cloth duster so that any tiny dust particles are effectively removed.

3.   Spray a disinfect spray on the desired area before mopping.

4.   Make an ammonia and vinegar paste and apply on the desired area.

5.   Soak the mob into hot water .Mop the floor.

6.   Apply some Kerosene on the piece of cloth and apply on the area.

7.   Start scrubbing the area with the help of brush.

8.   Clean it with the piece of cloth and your tile will be free of Rust Stains.

Tips and Warnings:

1.   Make sure to wear gloves before cleaning anything.

2.   Make sure kids are no around when making solutions.

3.   Do not use bleach to clean as it may destroy the floor altogether.

4.   Take advice before working.
