· Two table spoons of ammonia

1.   If the stain that you are dealing with is fresh, then primarily run it under cold water. You need to perform this step swiftly, before the blood dries up. On the other hand if it’s a dried stain which you have to treat, then first of all flush the stain thoroughly under cold water.

2.   Next make a solution of detergent and soak the fabric in this soapy water. Detergent will act on the stain, loosening its particles.

3.   Afterwards, take 3% solution of hydrogen per oxide which is commonly available at any drug store and is used for first aid treatment. Use this solution to bleach your fabric if it happens to be white.


4.   For colored fabrics, it is best if you go for an ammonia solution followed by vinegar.

5.   Make a solution of two table spoons of ammonia and 1 cup of warm water. Use this solution to rinse and blot the blood stain continually until the stain is no longer visible on fabric.

6.   Follow this with a vinegar solution, comprising of 1 cup vinegar with 2 cups of water.

7.      This solution would neutralize the effects of ammonia and hopefully you will end up with a stain free fabric.
