How to remove Grease Stains from Stove top

Grease stains on stoves tops are extremely repulsive to look at. If the cleaning is not made on daily bases, the grease can accumulate making it difficult to remove. Restaurants and homes have stove and grills which have this problem very often. With time these grease stains on and around the stove and grills not only become sticky but also start to give off a pungent smell that can even be smelled in the food which is cooked on them so it is best to get rid of grease on stove top. It may seem very hard, but with a few easy solutions, the grease stains will go away in no time! You can adopt anyone of the following methods to remove grease stains from a stove top or a grill.

Method 1 (Using Baking Soda)

Things that you will require:

·      A bowl of warm water
·      A small bowl of baking soda
·      Knife
·      A spoon
·      A sponge
·      A cleaning towel

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Scrape off the access grease from the stove top to reduce the thickness of the stain.

2.   Spray warm water on the grease, so that the surface is wet enough.

3.   Sprinkle the baking soda with the spoon, making sure that the entire wet grease surface is covered and u haven’t missed a spot.

4.   Leave the baking soda on for 2-3 hours.

5.   Moisten the sponge and scrub the surface. Rather than doing a painful job of scraping the grease off, the baking soda makes it easier to clean the spots.

6.   Rinse the sponge under tap water till all of the grease it out, and repeat the scrubbing till the stove top is clean.

7.   After the stove top is free of grease stains, take a dry cleaning towel and clean the wet surface to see the shiny surface again.

Method 2 (Using Vinegar)

Things that you will require:

·      A small  bowl of tap water
·      A small bowl of vinegar
·      An empty bowl
·      Knife
·      A sponge
·      A cleaning towel

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Take an empty bowl. Fill it with equal amount of white vinegar and water.

2.   Make sure that the amount mixed is enough for the surface that has to be cleaned.

3.   Scrape off the access grease with the knife. Once the thickness of the stain is reduced, the vinegar solution will prove to be more effective.

4.   You can always add more water and vinegar but remember to make sure that they are of equal amounts.

5.   Sprinkle this solution onto the greasy stove top and leave it for 30 minutes.

6.   Take the sponge and scrub the greasy surface. Keep cleaning the sponge under running water as soon as it gets saturated by Grease.

7.   Once the grease on stove top is removed, dry the surface with the cleaning towel.

Method 3 (Using Ammonia)

Things that you will require:

·      Ammonia
·      Knife
·      Gloves
·      Cleaning towel
·      Bowl of water

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Scrape off access grease from the stove to lessen its thickness.

2.   Put the gloves on to protect your hands.

3.   Sprinkle ammonia on the grease stains and leave it on for ten minutes.

4.   Dampen a sponge with water and scrub the grease off.

5.   Ammonia would have made scrubbing off the grease easy but if you feel it hasn’t sprinkle some more ammonia on the thick patches left and leave it on for a few more minutes. Remember not to leave it on for too long as it might affect the stove top.

6.   Repeat the step 4 again and keep cleaning the sponge with water till it gets saturated with grease. Your stove top will be free of grease stains by the end of it.
