How to Remove Oil Stains From Jeans

You work at a local restaurant where you work as a chef. Every day you are tired of changing your jeans and buying new ones because you always drop oil on your jeans. You have tried almost all commercial detergents but they have proved to be too expensive and not so much effective.

Well you do not really have to buy new jeans, as there are many methods through which you can remove such stains using homemade materials and methods that can remove stains on jeans with just little effort. You can adopt any one of the following methods for the removal of Oil Stains from Jeans.

Method 1 (Using WD-40 as Water Displacement Solution)

Things you will be required:

·      Paper napkins or tissue papers.
·      Liquid dish soap or any other similar solution.
·      WD-40 water displacement solution.
·      Spraying bottle.

Steps:

1.   The first step should be that you remove any abundant or excess oil from jeans. This can be done by blotting with the help of paper napkins or tissue papers.

2.   Then use a water displacement solution, you can use WD-40 which is widely used for oil and grease stains. What you have to do is to cover the stain spot with water displacement solution by spraying on the stain area. You can add WD-40 in an empty spraying bottle and then spray on the stain spot. This will make further cleaning and washing easier.

3.   If the Oil Stain is too deep then for further positive results you can apply little bit of liquid dish soap and gently rub with your fingers on the stain area so that oil stain will fade away which will further ease in washing of the stain.

4.   After all that give a normal wash to your jeans in warm washing machine.

5.   Dry your jeans and your jeans will look new as if you recently bought it.

Method 2 (Using Cheez whiz as Water Displacement SOlution)

Things you will be required:

·      Corn starch.
·      Cheez Whiz.
·      Hot water.
·      Washing powder for clothes.

Steps:

1.   Before you wash jeans or doing anything else, blot the stain area with corn starch. Corn starch is widely available in markets as well as home so one can easily get it and use it for blotting purposes. Apply the corn starch on oil stain and remove it by using tissue paper or dry towel.

2.   Use a water displacement solution that is Cheez Whiz as it is best in removing stains before you do any further washing.

3.   Rub it gently that is the solution in a way that you do not scrub it as scrubbing can spread the stain. Let it remain on the jeans for few minutes.

4.   Then add washing powder in warm water and wash your jeans as you wash normally.

Tips and Warnings:

1.   Blot only and only, with any other cloth that is not in use or which you can dispose of easily such as disposable tissue paper or paper napkins.

2.   When blotting, make sure you do it very carefully so that oil do not spread over, if you scrub in this case then oil will spread which you really do not want.

3.   The key to remove any stain is to remove as soon as possible so that less effort will be required in removing it.

4.   When applying liquid dish soap or any other solution you should wear gloves as these solutions have chemicals in it.

5.   In second method do not rub the stain as it will spread the stain on other areas and on other parts of jeans.

6.   Only add hot water in bucket when you are ready to wash it there and then, after applying all the solution. As it can lead to water getting cool making the solution thus ineffective.
