They also require very little time and the effects are satisfactory, resulting in a successful stain removal.

Method 1 (Using Cornstarch and Dishwashing Liquid)

Things that you will require:

·      Butter knife
·      Cleaning towels
·      Dishwashing liquid
·      Water
·      Cornstarch
·      Tooth brush

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Remove the access grease with the help of the butter knife. Make sure you scrape inwards i.e. towards the center of the stain so that the fresh grease doesn’t get on the unaffected area of the jeans. Clean the edge of the knife every time the grease comes off.

2.   Now take the cleaning towel and rub on the surface of the stain so that all the remaining grease is cleaned.

3.   Scatter cornstarch on the stain, making sure that you cover it completely. Leave it on for about ten to fifteen minutes. The cornstarch will absorb the grease out of the weave of the jeans.

4.   Take the tooth brush and rub the cornstarch into the fabric. This will more effectively remove the grease stains. After that brush away the cornstarch.

5.   Now put a few drops of dishwashing liquid directly on the stain and add few drop of water to it. Start scrubbing with the tooth brush. The lemon in the dishwashing liquid will cause the grease to leave the weave of the jeans and the stain removal will be successful.

6.   Wash the jeans with tap water and then throw them in the laundry. Wash as u usually would. Air dry after the laundry is complete. For more methods proceed below.

Method 2 (Using Dishwashing Liquid Only)

Things that you will require:

·      Paper towels & cleaning towel
·      Dishwashing liquid
·      Laundry detergent
·      Tooth brush

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Turn the jeans inside out and locate the back side of the stain. For best results fold a cleaning towel on the stain side so that it absorbs the grease coming off.

2.   Now pour enough dish washing liquid on the backside of the stain so cover it. Leave it on for about five minutes so that it loosens the grease.

3.   Run hot water on the jeans. The hotter the better. Rub the backside with tooth brush.

4.   Now remove the cleaning towel and put the jeans in a washing machine and wash it using very hot water. Pour the laundry detergent in and leave it in for two minutes.

5.   After two minutes take the jeans out and turn the stain side out to check if the stains have been removed.

6.   If at this point the stains have lightened but haven’t been completely removed, repeat step from one to four. By the end of this process the stain will be completely removed.

How to remove Cement Stains from brick

Construction workers often pay very less attention to cleanliness. Their priority is to work quickly and finish the job. Very few workers are perfectionists who do neat work. Leaving cement stains on bricks is one of the main blunder that these construction workers do. Cleaning after them in such a situation becomes very hard.

Removal of cement stains from a brick makes it reusable therefore rather than throwing a perfectly good brick, try to remove it with the following method.

The hydrochloric acid method is somewhat dangerous which is why you need to follow instructions carefully. The availability of the acid isn’t an issue either. Make sure you stay protected and not hurry through the task. Take your time and remove the cement stains from the brick successfully.

Things that you will require:

·      Metal bristle brush
·      Hydrochloric acid
·      Water
·      Large plastic bucket
·

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Put the gloves on and start by mixing water with hydrochloric acid in the plastic bucket. Make sure that you use the ratio of one part acid and twenty parts water in case the brick is of a lighter color. If it is dark, use one part acid and ten parts water.

2.   If the brick is loose, soak it in the solution for about five minutes. In case the brick is part of a wall, soak the stained area with the acid solution for the same amount of time. This will loosen the cement stains making it easier for you to remove them.

3.   Now take the brick out of the solution and start by scrubbing the stains with the metal bristle brush. Scrub gently so that the clean surface of the brick isn’t affected.

4.   After the stain removal is complete wash the brick or brick wall with excessive amount of water. This is to make sure the acid solution becomes dilute enough to not affect the area where it is being drained to.

Tips and Warnings:

·      Always remember the ratio with which you mix the acid with water. It is very important to follow it exactly.

·      Make sure you aren’t working in the sunlight.

·      If the brick is on a wall you must pour the hydrochloric solution from above. Never splash it because the solution will splash off the wall and land on your face.

·      Empty bowl
·      Plastic bag
·      Hydrogen peroxide
·      Dish washing liquid
·      White vinegar

4.   Now rinse the bowl and add vinegar to it and twice as much water. Dispose of the previous mixture in the spray bottle, rinse it and then add the vinegar solution to it. Spray the stains with it and leave it on for about 5 to 7 minutes.

5.   Wipe the stained area again with a cleaning towel. In case you aren’t satisfied with the stain removal repeat step 4.

Method 2

Things that you will require:

·      Hydrogen peroxide
·      Tape
·      Plastic sheet
·      Baking soda
·      Spray bottle
·      Cleaning towels
·      Gloves
·      Plastic bag
·      Broom

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   If the urine stains on the hardwood floor are fresh, put on the gloves and wipe the surface with a cleaning towel. Make sure you work your way inward i.e. towards the center of the stain to avoid spreading the urine to unaffected areas of the floor.

2.   Now take a fresh towel and spread it on the stained floor. Add the hydrogen peroxide to the spray bottle and add equal quantity of water. Now spray the cleaning towel with this solution. Leave it for about an hour or two.

3.   In order to make sure that the peroxide doesn’t dry up, spread the plastic on the cleaning towel and tape it to the floor. Make sure you use a paper tape that will come off easily without leaving marks on the floor.

4.   Take off the plastic and dispose of it in a plastic bag, along with the cleaning towel.

5.   Take another cleaning towel and dip it in water. Clean the hydrogen peroxide solution off the stains.

Tips:

·      Always remember that whatever you use to clean the urine stains goes into an air tight plastic bag so that your pets can’t smell it. If you place the smelly rags anywhere else they will think of this place as a new spot for urinating.

·      Constantly spraying formerly stained areas with flower smelled sprays will eventually make the smell go away.

·      It is best to keep your pet (cat/dog) away from the spot where they urinated.
