How to remove Eyeliner Stains from clothes

Eyeliner is an essential part of a woman’s beauty routine. It enhances the eyes and high lights them in a distinct way. Some women use water proof eyeliner because of its longer lasting quality but while applying, if the eyeliner slips and falls on your clothes it can lead to a real mess. In addition to that if you have kids who love to play with your makeup, it is possible that rather than applying the product on their face they decorate your or their clothes.

In that case, the nasty stains left behind by the eyeliner can be extremely hard to remove. This is because the eyeliner has a dying effect and if left for too long on clothes it may set. This is why it is essential to take action immediately after you have discovered the stain and also to pre-treat the stain for a successful stain removal rather than throwing the stained clothes straight into laundry. Here are some methods that have proved to be very effective in removing eyeliner stains from clothes.

Method 1 (Using Hair Spray)

Things that you will require:

·      Hair spray
·      Water
·      A shallow bowl
·      Tooth brush

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Run tap water from the back side of the eyeliner stained clothes.

2.   Spray the hair spray on the stained area and let it stay in for about an hour.

3.   With the help of the tooth brush, work the sprayed area.

4.   After this treatment the stains will have loosened up. Do the laundry as usual. This will successfully remove the eyeliner stains from clothes.

Method 2 (Using Makeup Removing Liquid)

Things that you will require:

·      Water
·      Empty shallow bowl

Steps that you will need to take:

1.   Soak the eyeliner stained clothes with normal tap water.

2.   Now apply the makeup removing face soap which is in liquid form. Put a few drops of the liquid on a sponge and gently apply on the eyeliner stain. Make sweeping movement rather than rubbing the sponge on the stains. Wait a few minutes.

3.   Take the laundry detergent and pour some into the empty shallow bowl. Dip the stained area into it and wait for about 30 minutes.

4.   Using the toothbrush work the laundry detergent into the stain. This will remove the stain completely.

5.   Now do the laundry of the clothes as usual.

Method 3 (Using Oxygen Bleach)

1.   Take a nail sized drop of prewash laundry stain remover and put it on the eyeliner stained area. Leave it for about a minute.

2.   Meanwhile fill the washing machine with cold water and add a cup of oxygen bleach to the water.

3.   Put the stained clothes into the machine and allow it for complete one whole cycle.

4.   At this point if the stain hasn’t completely been removed proceed by placing a cleaning towel on the back of the eyeliner stain and pour one tsp. dry cleaning fluid onto it.

5.   Now repeat step one, two and three. This will not only remove the dry cleaning fluid but also the eye liner stain.

6.   Don’t forget to air dry the clothes rather than putting them in the dryer.
